I have had an amazing trip for my birthday. Sitting at the Main Street Parade last night at Disney watching the kids ooh and awe and Shei get uber excited to see Tink....made my day. It couldn't have been a better birthday. (Ok, if it was someone else funding the trip and not myself...maybe...but money didn't matter at that moment.) We got fudge from the candy shop, cotton candy from a street vendor, sat on the curb and enjoyed every minute of it.
We spent Sunday at Disneyland and took Monday off to rest our feet. We spent Tuesday at California Adventure then finished up at Disneyland for the parade. I will rant more about Disney in it's own blog. This is about me....getting old..er. I am ok with it. Each year that passes I enjoy my children more and more. They are such neat people. People I would actually like as an adult and that's important to me. Cause I am super cool...so they have to be as well. HAHA.
So, Monday we drove down to visit some friends in Oceanside. We hopped on the I5 and we were there within the hour. We wanted to see the ocean while we were here since we don't see that water stuff at home in the desert. My friends Binks and Tom live there while Tom is assigned to Camp Pendleton. So the kids played while we visited and when Tom came home from his day we all went to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack right down on the water in the marina.
We had an amazing dinner talking, laughing, and getting a kick out of this large group that was having a celebration and awards dinner there also. Binks of course had to tell our server that it was my birthday and when she asked my name with the straightest face I said Morgan. (Binks real name.) Morgan was like, "UH UH. OH NO. I HAVE THE ID TO PROVE IT. Her name is Bobbi-Jo." Hey, I tried. So we all laughed and I thought ok, ok, they can sing to me.
Well when she brings my super yum turtle sundae heaping pile of goo the wait staff is in tow and she hands me a stuffed crab. She said hold one in each hand and during each verse yell, "I GOT CRABS!" Well anyone that knows me knows I have no shame and enjoy a good time (ok and maybe being the center of attention) but I turn the brightest shade of red when embarrassed or on the spot. So it goes like this....
Joe's Staff: Happy Birthday to you!
Me: I GOT CRABS!
Joe's Staff: Happy Birthday to you!
Me: I GOT CRABS!
Joe's Staff: Happy Birthday dear BobbiJo
Me: I GOT CRABS!
Joe's Staff: Happy Birthday to You!
Me: I GOT CRABS! WOOHOO!
So, I was flourescent red. Everyone was laughing hysterically and it was the best time. There were even a couple people holding up their cell phones so whoever was on the other end could hear as well.
LET ME CLARIFY...I don't have CRABS! Well, I actually have a crab now. I had to buy one of the little stuffed critters as a souvenir after that.
So very original. Not the ol giant sombrero on the head sing a little song gig.
We did have to explain to our kids what crabs are though after that so they would know why it was so incredibly funny. Cause they were totally laughing along but then were like....why is that so funny. So we explained, ya know how you get lice on your head, well....
And it was EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! But then they got it! HA
So, I am 34. I am ok with it. I look amazing for my age of course. Still cute....and modest as all get out and love my world right now.
